I recently dressed for an on-camera shoot and remembered something I read - a fashion quote actually from Marilyn Monroe regarding her opinion that to achieve the "perfect look" a woman should only wear a nude shoe - no matter what the outfit... ...I was wearing a brightly patterned sundress (pictured above and below) that hit just above the knee and the nude shoe made my legs appear longer and more streamlined - as there was not the typical break-up at the ankle that would result from colored shoes...
Your wearing a black -sexy floor length evening gown - would a nude shoe work? ABSOLUTELY! Your at a pool party and you're wearing a cute jean skirt and white off the shoulder blouse - a nude sandle would certainly complete the outfit... Your wearing a black skirt suit to a high powered business meeting - of course black pumps would work - yet picture the nude heel carrying the look in an elegant, professional, and stylish manner! To perfect this look I would also recommend nude hose ... So yes ladies and gents when it comes to shoes Marilyn was right...Go Nude!
